Crea Numerica, septembre 2009, Beyrouth

An operation proposed by RYBN to recontextualize the crisis, its mediatic and politic strategies, on the topics of disaster, structural instability and financial markets mythologies.

EXHIBITION : ANTIDATAMINING
RYBN 2006-2009

Antidatamining is a series of visualizations of financial data extracted from the web. Economy is represented by its main agents - companies, groups and holdings, stock exchanges, banks and investment funds - and their interactions : capital relationships, geographic deployments, structuralization on market places. Beyond the current crisis, its mediatic and polictic levers, Antidatamining is a permanent monitoring device, which aims to highlight the structure of the contemporary economy, seen as a complex dynamic system.

Artkillart is a label based in Paris / Berlin, created in 2007. The label aims to promote experimental audiovisual and sound art. Artkillart invites artists to conceptualize, create and design an object, which explores the limitations of the support (dvd, cd and/or vinyle). De Toronto (3 sites)
"Nous, la Ville, ..."
Pour célébrer Nuit Blanche et le 45ème anniversaire du programme McLuhan en culture et technologie de l'université de Toronto, les membres du programme McLuhan en culture et technologie (MPCT) du Coach House Institute de l'université de Toronto et ceux du Laboratoire de recherche collaborative du monde urbain (CURL) de la Faculté de droit Osgoode Hall ont souhaité que cette formidable occasion de découvrir ou de redécouvrir la Ville de Toronto soit une fête pour tous, ainsi qu'une réflexion sur la construction plurielle d'une identité Torontoise. Le programme de la Nuit Blanche 2008 reflètera ainsi cette vision au travers de mises en scènes et installations artistiques traitant de diversité, de perceptions et géographies différentes. Ces voyages culturels permettront aux Torontois de se réapproprier une identité collective, tel que suggéré par le thème de la nuit "Nous, la Ville, ...";

Craft, industrial and numerical production modes change our relationships with products (single object, original and copy, duplicable). Internet contributes to increase access to existing and duplicable media, texts, images, data. What about art practices consisting into fitting, sampling, feeding, assembling, interpret this existing data and media ? What about Web2.0 information and media saturation and demultiplication ? What kind of social imaginary is generated? What about limits between public and private spaces? what about copyright, property, paternity? What about the relationship between information, access, search engines and power?
